INSTALLATION
Freedom Force X 3.2 installs as a mod (unlike the versions for the original game, which installed into the main data directory).
Running the Windows Installer will create a group on your Start Menu with the following shortcuts:
- FFX 3 - a shortcut to Freedom Force vs the Third Reich with the options: -game ffx3 to tell the game to use the scripts and campaign data in the ffx3 folder (and the -log option, which used to be is required for detection and implementation of FFX Attributes; it's still essential for debugging and it improves somewhat the stability of the game when running FFX or other mods).
- FFX 3 Control Centre - runs the Control Centre for customising characters attributes and making power swaps.
- FFX 3 Manual - a shortcut to the document you're reading here.
If you have already installed either FFX 3.0 or 3.1, the new version will backup the most likely user-customizable files from your previous install; these files will have the extension ".old" appended to their name.
Important
After installing and before running the game, you need to run the FFX Control Centre. It needs to brand any custom heroes you have and any built-ins you have merged using FFEdit.
If you're upgrading, you probably run to the FFX Custom Data Converter.
